Criteria for Including Articles and Essays
For EMPATHY'S Recommended Readings

We are trying to be selective, listing articles which we know faculty have successfully assigned as readings, rather than speculatively listing any topical article or abstract available.

While we have a bias toward web based full text articles, we want to list other recommended reading assignments, too. However, the material needs to be readily available. Convention papers will not be listed unless they are available on the web or the author agrees to provide copies upon request.

In the case of published books of collected articles and essay, they will normally be listed as textbooks. Editors if you will send us a list of your article titles, we will create a link and page for your collected work. If you provide us a link to your table of contents and/or review, we will link EMPATHY's support site to your page. Of course if you recommend a particular article or essay in a edited collection, we will post such titles.

We would like to have your list of articles and essays which you include in your class readings packages (which are frequently used for upper division and graduate courses). Please pass those along to us.

As we gain experience maintaining this page, we hopefully will become more actuate in selecting quality reading assignments.

Again, given the amount of work required to maintain a support like this one, we prefer to link to other sites which are sharing in this work for keeping us posted about what is currently available and highly recommended.
